Sources of Funding
Women’s Resources is funded, in part, by the Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS), the United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and various other grants and foundations. We must also rely on financial donations from our supporters to maintain the range of services we provide to abused women and their children. Women’s Resources provides a charitable tax receipt for financial donations over $20.00.
We’ve tried to make it easier to give by providing the following options:
Online giving – Click on ‘Donate Now’ at the top of this page to make a donation through CanadaHelps, and to download your automatic receipt.
Monthly donations through direct debit – all you do is send us a voided cheque and let us know how much you would like to donate each month and we will set it up.
Visa, Mastercard and American Express – you can also make a monthly or one time donation by using your credit card.
Personal cheque – just mail in a cheque in the amount of your choice along with the donation slip on our direct mail campaign.
Investments – Changes made to the federal tax rules in 2006 have created an attractive alternative for some of our supporters. Donating securities or shares to a registered charity has two direct benefits: the full tax credit for the value of the contribution; and the elimination of the capital gains tax when the shares are transferred in kind. Please contact your financial advisor to see if this option would work for you.
Women’s Resources offers many ways for our community to work with us to end abuse. However you choose to become involved, your support is always needed and greatly appreciated!
