Annual Toyride
Riverwood Park, Lindsay
Join us for this wonderful fundraising event hosted by Dave and Lynda Chessman. Motorcycle enthusiasts from around the province participate in a 2 hour ride through the City of Kawartha Lakes. The ride is followed by a barbecue and games for kids of all ages! Riders are asked to bring donations of toys or money. All proceeds go to support the Children’s programs at Victoria’s Shelter and Amy’s Next Step housing program.
Each year, Women’s Resources hosts a vigil in remembrance of the 14 women who were murdered at L’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989.
Approximately 40 women and children lose their lives each year in Ontario as a result of abuse.
The vigil is a time to honour the lives of the women and children who have been murdered but also a time for action - a time to work together toward ending violence in our community. For information about the time and place, please contact Women’s Resources at 878-4285.
