Amy's Next Step Housing
Amy’s is an eight unit apartment complex located in Fenelon Falls which provides short-term housing for women, with or without children, who are re-building their lives after abuse.
Rent is geared to income and women can remain at Amy’s for a period of one year. Amy’s provides a safe environment in which women and their children can begin to recover from their experiences of abuse.
Amy’s receives no government funding and is operated from the rental revenue, fundraising events and donations.
The Amy’s program offers more than just housing to women and their children.
While at Amy’s, women receive supportive counselling from outreach workers and 24 hour telephone support is available. A children’s worker also visits the program regularly to provide support to moms and their children.
